Misha Black

Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, as Moisey Tcherny (but renamed “Misha Black” by his parents when they moved the family to Britain in 1912),designer Black had an extraordinary influence on the direction of twentieth-century architecture and design in Britain. Central to the formation of artists’, architects’, and designers’ organizations in Britain over forty years, he modeled a new form of British design organization: the design consultancy.
